Regulatory Exam Training
Regulatory Examinations were introduced to evaluate the proficiency and practical application of knowledge of financial advisors regarding the regulatory framework of the financial services industry, which includes various legislation such as the FAIS Act, FICA, the General Code of Conduct and other legislation.
RE5 is the Regulatory Examination for Representatives who provide financial services in the insurance and motor dealer industries. It assesses their competence and ensures they meet the FAIS fit and proper requirements for such a role.
The Regulatory Examination for Key Individuals (RE1) is the exam for persons who wish to be approved as a Key Individual in the financial services industry, and it also serves as a fit and proper requirement for this role.

The training is available through Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT) and online training on our eLearning platform, covering the content published in Board Notice 194 of 2017, along with updates. During the workshop, we use proven study methods and techniques to help you understand and master the many terms and concepts required to pass the notoriously tricky Regulatory Examinations. Registering for the Regulatory Examinations
Although FAIS Forward Academy provides training for the exams, we do not administer them. To take the Regulatory Examinations, candidates must book with Moonstone, the examination body authorized by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority to administer the exams. Who the course is for?
Financial Services Providers, Representatives and Key Individuals who must write the Regulatory Examination for Key Individuals (RE1) or Representatives (RE5) can benefit from our Regulatory Examination training.
Requirements
To enroll for the Zoom workshops as well as the training provided on the eLearning platform, access to a computer and a dependable internet connection are necessary.
Course duration
3 months access to the online training courses.
Certification
To successfully pass the Regulatory Examination for Key Individuals (RE1) and for Representatives (RE5), a minimum score of 65% is required. After passing the exam, you will receive a certificate from Moonstone as proof of successful completion.
