Class Of Business Training
Class of Business (CoB) Training is a compulsory part of the FAIS Fit and Proper Requirements regulated in terms of Board Notice 194 of 2017.
Financial Services Providers, Key Individuals and Representatives in the Financial Services Industry appointed on or after August 1, 2018, must complete CoB training within 12 months of the date of first appointment in all product categories in which they render financial services.
FAIS Forward Academy is an accredited INSETA training provider offering CoB training in four classes of business:
Short-Term Insurance (Personal Lines), Short-Term Insurance (Commercial Lines), Long-Term Insurance, Short-Term Deposits
Training Methodology
The CoB training and assessment is offered online on our eLearning portal.
Who the course is for?
Financial Services Providers, Key Individuals and Representatives in the Financial Services Industry must complete CoB training within 12 months of date of first appointment (DOFA) in the product categories in which they render financial services.
We offer CoB training in the following classes of business:
- Short-term Insurance Personal Lines
- Short-Term Insurance Commercial Lines
- Long-term Insurance
- Deposits
Requirements
To complete the training and assessment, access to a computer and a reliable internet connection is required.
Course duration
Delegates have a maximum of three months to complete the training and successfully complete the online assessment.
Certification
On successful completion of the CoB Training and Assessment, a certificate of Completion will be issued to the delegate.
